Payment held under review

I sold a phone on eBay and the buyer took days to pay. Than when he did, the payment is being held and under review. He started emailing me that he really needed the phone for a birthday gift but he is not even in the country. Than he questioned the exact condition of the phone when he could have before the sale ended. I am starting to feel like I am about to get scammed. What can I do?

Kookii-  While I'm not privy to why the payment is being reviewed, from what you've provided I would agree that it seems like there may be something strange going on.  At this point you may just want to think about refunding the payment and looking for someone else to buy it.  It sounds like, if the payment clears, it may turn into a dispute, and that's never a good time for anyone involved.  It's probably gonna be easier for if you just make it like it never happened and look for someone who'll appreciate your merchandise.
