I guess I should've known at first from the horrible english but I believed it and almost ended up shipping it until he/she told me to send it to her "daughter" in Nigeria.
I gave the person my email address for my account on paypal and I received this email...
This message is originated from PayPal company. We have received an order from our client Laura regarding the payment made to your PayPal account. The payment has been successfully made but due to security reason we have to receive the shipment tracking number before the next 24 hours for the processing of your order.
Once shipment has been verified and the tracking number sent to us, You will receive a "CONFIRMATION Email" from PayPal® informing you that the Money has been credited.
The PayPal Team.
I did not reply to it but the person does have my email. My question for anyone is since they have my email is there anything they can do to my paypal account now???? They dont have my password or any information so I assume not but I would just like to make sure. Also from what I see this Nigerian scam is pretty popular...is there any action I can take against this person?

It's not likely that they can do anything with your paypal account with just the email address.
However, they have both your name and address now, you you'll get more realistic emails from "paypal" telling you that your account has been limited, there's been a report of suspicious activity on your account, and so on.
They'll all be fakes, with links that say they go to paypal but don't, so be aware of them.
In the worst case, they could use a codecracker on your account and perhaps figure out your password. It's unlikely, but possible.
To defeat this, you could get a Paypal security key for $5 from the Paypal security center - it makes your account hacker-proof by assigning a new, second password to the account every 30 seconds - it's impossible to break.

I got the same email from someone wanting to buy my iPhone that was listed on Craig's List. Upon receiving the email from "Paypal" I clicked to see the original email which includes the complete header with IP address that the email was sent from. It showed that the email actually came from and was routed to reply to a gmail address and was definitely not from Paypal.
You should forward your original fraudulent email to spoof@paypal.com.
Hope this helps some!
