Fee's are overpriced on overseas ebay sells.

I am an ebay seller and I have no problem paying a fee for my transaction with Paypal, however, I think its is wrong to charge a fee based on the full gross amount of the transaction. I sell to many overseas customers and their shipping rates are extrememly high. This is even more wrong considering I use PayPal to pay and print each shipping label, paypal is then aware that I am not 'grossing' the amount they charge!
Example:
If I sell an item for $125 to a US customer with $12 shipping charge, my total fee from PayPal is around $4.
If I sell an item for $125 to a customer from New Zealand with a $45 shipping charge, my total fee from Paypal is around $7.
Both items sell for the same amount, Paypal can see that I am using the full $45 to pay for the shipping because I am using paypal shipping services. I am only truly getting $125 from the customer, in both instances.
Paypal should consider changing this policy. Anyone with me?

Credit card companies and all money transfer services, Paypal, propay, paymate, money brokers charge the fee on the whole amount/payment.

Uh - when did you get this crazy idea that paypal's fees are determined by a vote of their customers?

I never said that the customers made a decision.... however if enough people complain, they might at least listen. Its not about the entire fee system, just that part. If ebay and paypal are going to partner, then paypal should realize how unfair it is for me to pay a fee for someone elses shipping costs.

Business does not run on the basis of your perceptions of "fairness".
The standard is "Charge what the market will bear."
If it's too much for you, then don't use the service. Complaints are ignored.

what is with the rudeness? do you work for paypal? I'm a very good customer and do not deserve such rudeness based on a question I asked.

I do not work for paypal.
I am an experienced seller that is tired of people whining about things that aren't going to change.
Now, here are your 2 choices;
Put up with it or LEAVE.
There are no other choices - get it?

The reason why your charges are higher for the shipping to New Zealand is because the total amount going into your payypal account is 170 dollars....rather than 137 for the same item shipping to the U.S. Paypal bases their fees on how much money you receive. They really don't care about the shipping cost. That doesn't even come into play. I don't consider it a problem.

I agree wholeheartedly. Paypal chooses to ignore that partial funds we seller receive are for shipping. And as long as they continue to ignore it, we as sellers are at their mercy. We either put up with it or leave. But there's a third alternative, CHARGE EVEN MORE FOR SHIPPING

Well, that will solve the problem because someone else will get the order - perhaps they'll know how to work the system properly.
