Subject: Response to Citizens Advice enquiry AW-10781531

 Dear Mrs Clark

Thank you for your further email enquiry to Citizens Advice consumer service dated 10/11/2012 with reference to your case number AW-10781531

We are currently experiencing high levels of demand for advice by email and would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the delay in responding to your email and for any inconvenience caused as a consequence.

However, after carrying our an extensive search on our data base using the details you have enclosed; I could only find details of two enquires you made to the Citizens Advice consumer service.  The first was over the telephone on the 05/11/2012 and the second was your email dated 10/11/2012.

From your email it appears you are seeking clarification that neither the Citizens Advice consumer service nor Trading Standards can confirm that some UGG boots you purchased were counterfeit.

I can confirm that the Citizens Advice consumer service would not be able to verify if goods are counterfeit or not, and it is unlikely that Trading Standards would be able to offer such a service.

However, I can inform you that the official UGG website has a webpage that details authorised online retailers of their products – see http://www.uggaustralia.com/gb/retailstores/onlinestores.aspx?p=aor for further information.  As such, if the trader you purchased the goods from is not listed on that website and have published such statements as ‘Authorised UGG retailer’ on their website; it could be deemed that they have misrepresented the products they have sold to you.

If you require any further civil advice or information about this case, please do not hesitate to contact the Citizens Advice consumer service by return email or on 08454 04 05 06 quoting the case reference number.

Thank you for your enquiry.

Paul

Hello again  im glad you think that too

that makes me feel a little bit better

if I cant get the validation paypal need then there's little point in appealing and I did nt think you could do anything when a case is closed

I even got the scammers to confirm that they were based in the UK coz that's what they stated, which also made me feel I was buying safely

and then i told paypal that  I would be prepared to return them to their UK address  which I don't think was unreasonable as after it was n't my fault that this all came to this

all I wanted was a pair ugg boots for my daughters surprise xmas present then ended up with all this crap not realising the mine field of buying ugg boots on the Internet

and returning the boots to china was going to cost me just about as much as I paid for them  so it looks like iv been had good and proper  thanks to paypal

i cannot put into rhyme and reason  paypal finding in tthe scammers favour  because i have presented a pretty sound case and evidence that this site is fake so for them to ignore allthis and pay them and take their percentage puts paypal  takiing a cut of dirty money i dont how how they can justify this  or even how it can be legal

well cheers for your interest anyhow

and thanks for listening to  my moaning x

I side with paypal on a lot of things but having re-read all your posts i think this was one of the most ludicrous decisions i have seen.

Have i mentioned before about if you funded the payment with a c.c. or debit card to contact your card issuer and see if they will chargeback for you???

Was the item very pricy? Anything over £100 if you used a c.c. your c.c. company should cover although they are sometimes funny if paypal are involved.

But when mine quibbled once i said fine i would cancel my card so they did a chargeback for me.

ah thanks for your support comments

this is why it helps as i know most of the time you speak from paypals angle on things

so to hear you say can see my point of view is a massive  cheer up

ye you mentioned my card before  but they also wanted proof of validation on letter headed paper

and proof that i had returned the item

maybe i will give them ago if i feel like fighting on tomz lol

but iv run out of steam with this iv spent my every spare minute over the last few weeks chasing up info etc

and its all been in vain sometimes no matter how big the injustice is you have to walk away

it was never about the money allthough it would have been nice to get it back

it was about these bare faced scammers  getting away with  ripping off sitting ducks like me with paypals help

everyone i have told my tale too said they would have done exactly what i had done,  been taken in by a site that bears the paypal logo  so there are still thousands out there waiting to be scammed as i was, good money for the scammers and good percentage for paypal

anyway cheers mi ducks   i wish you well  my friend in the ether  have a good xmas  and dont get scammed 😉

Same here, the person who has scammed me, has a record of buying over 10 items per day, had my items for over 6 weeks.

Maybe we are all in the wrong line of work hey??

Anyway, i will be requesting my fees back of SCAMPAL

PayPal has made an unauthorized direct debit from my bank account of £2.18, while I have never made any transaction for this amount, and no transaction of this amount is showing on my PayPal accont History. Surely, this is illegal? Thankfully, my bank will cancel the direct debit due to PayPals lack of customer service and communication or investigation. How can PayPal take an unauthorized direct debit?

In addition, PayPal were meant to issue me a refund of £2.81 into my bank account from a refunded EBay transaction, which shows as completed on my PayPal account History, but nothing in my bank account?

Strange how PayPal debit me £2.18 and fail to credit me £2.81. Therefore, owing me £4.99 in total?

Regarless of the amount, it must be illegal, what if I incurred charges from my bank? Still no contact from PayPal, no solution, poor customer service, taking unauthorized money and failing to refund money!
