Paypal -160£ not one bit happy,

OK I sold a iphone 5 one ebay for 150£ aeound 4/5 months ago the gay disputed it saying the fone was damaged or something but it was not so i told him send the phone and your well get a full refund so like a week later i get a packesge in side was pace of plastic a phone witch was not even a apple iphone is was a plastic back of a phone no screen notting a contacted paypal they to me to uplad and sign so things and upload them i did that i got the money dispute was closed 3 moths later my account is 160£ because the guy when to his bank told them to dispute the money now paypal want me to pay the money and lost my iphone 5 the best about it is paypal did not even let me reply to the backs dispute all they said was paypal -160£ or call thepolice , Am not a guy for calling the police I also had seller protection should paypal not pay them funds if there safe and stuff and seller protection.?

When a chargeback is made then the decision is made by the customers bank or credit card company and not paypal.

If it was a chargeback for unauthorised use of someones paypal account ie your buyers account was hijacked and used without their consent then they would have got their funds back and if you met seller protection you equally would not have lost out.

But this is customer dispute about an item. If the bank or card company felt that their customer had received a faulty item then in their eyes their customer should have a full refund without having to send the item back again.

Nothing can really help you with paying that money back HOWEVER there is nothing to stop you filing a small claims action if you want to against the buyer but its a bit iffy if he did receive a faulty item.
