Claim against me from unknown person

Hope someone can help.

I have had a claim against me & funds held from someone with whom I have not had any dealings. I have not sold anything for months. There are 4 claims for differing amounts in USD. I spoke to papal today who told me to click the 'I have not posted item & will refund' option. On doing this I'm told I cannot as I do not have the funds in my account. My account is showing a negative balance. I have no idea why. Prior to this I had my account limited due to 3rd party apparently accessing it & feel I may be the victim of some sort of scam.

Can anyone shed any light/give me any indication of what to do next?

i have had exactly the same happen to me,paypal only ever respond to my emails with auto replys, never any proper advice.

i tried the refund option through resolution centre but it wants me to put my own money in and provide bank details.

it all smells of  a scam.

i hope it gets sorted for us both,if paypal would actually respond personally instead of just sending auto-response emails it might actually help.meanwhile i just got another 4 emails with the title,"second reminder to respond to paypal claim etc etc".

good luck with your dispute

Hi, there's a few possibilities I can see here

1) a chargeback or bank reversal has happened several months down the line. Chargebacks generally happen within 6 months but sometimes longer. Bank reversals are much rarer but there is no timeframe on them.

2) Your account has been spoofed and accessed by a third party who have both paid money into your account and then paid that same money to somewhere else. If that is the case then make sure any payments they made from your account are reported as well as the payments into your account

mine has all been sorted out now, changed password and other details, hopefully the person who had money taken out of their bank has followed and added more security to her set up,thanks for sorting it all out eventually.
