Is there a time limit as to how long you have before making a claim that you have purchased (e.g.. I ordered an item through paypal about 3 weeks ago and I emailed the retailer and he said he is waiting for them to be shipped to him. If I continue to wait can I wait to long and not be able to get reimbursed. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi jwall0659-
Thanks for coming to the Community Help Forum.
You must initiate a dispute within 45 days of the payment through PayPal's Resolution Center. This still treats the matter as an issue between the buyer and seller. If you feel like you're not getting a satisfactory resolution during that process, you can escalate an issue to PayPal claim within 20 days of filing the dispute. This would be the time PayPal would step in on your behalf to determine why a satisfactory outcome has not occurred.
You can view a tutorial of the process if you go to your PayPal account overview screen and click on the Resolution Center link.
Of course, we suggest attempting to work things out with the seller, but be aware when your rights within PayPal lapse at that 45 day mark so that you are not delayed outside the timeframe when you'd be able to seek recourse.
Thanks,
PayPal Jason
