Scammed?

Yesterday I sold someone an online gaming account.  We originally agreed to 800, and then went up to 900 after. So I have a payment of 800, and one of 100 that were sent to me. Upon receiving those I then proceeded to pass over information and allow the account to be changed hands. I got an email this morning now saying the payment is being held and the user is saying they are unauthorized payments. The only proof I have is the chat log (iChat) of the conversation, as well as the emails confirming that the account had changed hands.

What can I do to help speed up the process and make sure that I prove I did my part?

I have bad news for you, you did not do your part as you sold an intangible good and expected PP to cover you.

If I were you I would do one thing and one thing only.  Go to the USPS and buy an envelope and mail them a piece of paper containing the chat logs to the buyer with signature confirmation.  If you are unable to prove to PP that you sold something and the buyer received the item via a courier then PP will side with the buyer and return all funds.  PP provides next to NO protection with off-ebay transactions so if you can mail them something within the next 24 hours WITH SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION (not Delivery Confirmation) you might be the first case of someone on here winning a case when selling a WoW account or gamer account.

Good luck and I hope you follow my advice quickly.

Sorry, that won't work - there's no seller protection for virtual goods.

The seller is pooched no matter what he does here.  Only recourse is Small Claims Court, and that's probably throwing good money after bad.
