I recently purchased a virtual item & I have purchased many virtual items before & didnt like them and got a return with no problem using clickbank. However, my last virtual product purchase was through a private vendor & came with a 90 day return policy, for which I even have an e-mail directly from the seller, where he states that I have a 90 day money back agreement with him/them and yet Paypal refuses to refund my money & I was only 7 days into the purchase...
This is a bogus attempt by paypal to protect my rights and paypal refuses to go the extra step & contact the seller via outside sources, if they have to, to confirm what my e-mail from the sellers states. Even if Paypal has to have somebody call or e-mail the seller asking about their 90 day return policy and Paypla won't do it. I feel I have the right to my $200. refund, as per what is very clear in my e-mail history chain of communications with the seller & paypal refuses to refund my money, even when we all know that all virtual priducts these days come with a minimum of 30 day money back policy...So, how can i get Paypal to at least have a special contact person, pose as a buyer and just ask this scammer, what his return policy is for virtual goods and accept my e-mail history, I can forward to them directly...as proof that I should get my money back, as promised by the seller.
What can I do to make Paypal see the obivious & dig deeper because this is a scammer and a thief that Paypal is siding with and it can be proved very easily and paypal won't do it and would rather side with this thief and scammer - I am considering taking it to my national tv station for more exposure and a fair resolution & further investigation into Paypals lacks of action and siding with a liar, scammer and thief...
Thanks Very Much,
Hopdog

Fleeced or not, but malevolent lack of action is a criminal offence. Helping scammers steal our money or merchandise is participation in theft. There may not be second opinion on that.
When I was robbed by scammer&Paypal, it got to me, they are doing it on purpose, so I finally filed a report to police - you aren't allowed to participate in theft, Paypal, even if you're big and up in the bucks..

I can tell you that paypal does not protect all purchases. On the front page they make you think that everything paid for through paypal is protected. But, I bought a dog from out of state before Thanksgiving of 2010 When I received the dog I did not get the appropriate paperwork that was to be with the dog, making it totally useless for my purposes. This was an expensive dog from the show ring. Once I didn't get everything that was suppose to be sent to me with the dog I put in a dispute with paypal. They closed the dispute immediately and told me that if I looked through all their pages I would eventually find that they do not cover "live animals" in disputes and will not be involved in a resolution. So, I did not like that answer and being a great client of Chase Visa I called to dispute the charge. Once I did that all of the sudden the paperwork showed up in the mail. Then it was complete and I canceled my dispute with Visa. But, at the same time I was rebilled an extra $9.50 because paypal charged this seller because of the chargeback. I paid it just to get it settled and over with even though it had never been my problem that there was a chargeback to begin with. My Chase Visa has stood behind me and has accepted my payment to them and made paypal prove that the money was owed and then payed them. Even after this was done, here it is March 8th and this resolution is still not off my account.
My advice to all paypal users and I post this on all animal sites to "NEVER" buy a live animal by using the paypal system, they will not back you up and put it all on you and it is a total harrassment. Tell everyone do not buy a "LIVE" animal through paypal, there are too many other ways to make that transaction for a live animal that will protect you if there is a problem. Paypal will not even enter the picture on the buyer's behalf. Thanks

I got **bleep**ed as a buyer. USPS tracks my packages as delivered but not in my mailbox. Carrier dosent know he says i havent seen this. Post office same and all they keep saying is that it was delivered its not our fault. Its not in my possesion. and Paypal says its my fault for purchasing. I am ourt my money and NO product. Thanks a lot. All they told me to do was go take it up with the post office. Seems like they know how well that usually goes. And i dont think there is a way i can make a claim with post office. Since there was no insurance on 45 doillar package. I mean the only thing i can see is that someone stole it being it neighbor or mail carrier. But i dont think my mail carrier would since ive known him for a while and even give him xmas presents and i know all my neighbors and i dont think theyre about to steal floss. I know almost 50 bucks in floss....its for electric oral b flosser though.
I think possibility is that it was misdeliverd and no one really cares so it never gets back to post office for redelivery. As a buyer my trust in paypal/ebay process has just dropped a bunch and as a seller i am thinking of pulling my business out of ebay/paypal since amazon has been more successful lately and hey no auctions instant sales. yeah yeah buy it now....sheesh...i did look @ me lost me money.
answer to topic: How does PayPal protect me as a buyer?
They dont they just pretend to!!!!!
They also wont let me say **bleep**ed....is that a curse word?
another weird thing i realized after the fact the seller has had 3 people now including me in the last several months not receieve the same item. The seller has had 2 others and me (3 total) not get their oral B Flossette's I wonder if that is some kind of pattern....i mean is the USPS that bad that anyone who gets floss sent to them it gets lost? Or is it just a highly prized item? I cant believe that.

You really should take your business elsewhere. I used to sell a ton on ebay, but when the new rules rolled out and buyers started feeling high and mighty, I knew this wasn't the place for me. Sellers are hated by ebay and by the buyers. Why continue to patronize such a system? Kudos to you for standing up for yourself.
