Is there any chance paypal will be on my side?

Wanted to purchase truck outside of ebay. Seller said he would take deposit to hold it for 1 1/2 days until I could look at it. He said truck ran good with no problems. When I got there it had no power at all. Brakes had to be pumped and teh clutch was on the weak side. I understand it is an old truck 91 but he said it ran good and it would barely pull its own weight. Even his mechanic said it did not have much power. I asked if he would return my money and he said he would have to go thru paypal. Ok I paid through paypal so no problem. I tried cotacting him for the next 3 days and he never would return my calls. I file a dispute and he immediately took it to a claim on me. He did offer  half my money back which I denied because I thought i was in the right. Now I find out that I am probably not going to gat Paypal on my side no matter what. I talked to paypal claims agent and it sounds as though they are not going to be on my side. So I guess if you do not have any problem with ripping people off all you have to do is convince them to pay for something thru paypal and you can rip them off just like I am being ripped by this )&^%%$^.  Paypal will never be on your side because it was not thru ebay. I thought Paypal was a secure way to pay for items. Apparently not if it is not thru there ebay site. Then you are not guaranteed you will get your money back. This is really a sorry matter. I need a vehicle bad and I lost my money because I thought I was in the right. The seller lied to me and my wife. We drove 70 miles to get the vehicle. Wasted 1/2 a day. I will never trust paypal again if they dont refund the money I am out. I even tried to get the agent to reinstate the half the seller agreed to repay and have not heard anything back from them neither. To bad there is trash that lies to your face in this world. And he seemed like a nice A$$*%^% to.(-:)
