Dispute with no transaction ID

A couple of days ago I received a mail form paypal confirming a payment to certain webpage; I do not recognize this charge as it wasn't done by me, I already tried to start a dispute, however since it does not appear in my transactions record I do not have a transaction ID. the charges are already in my bank statement under the concept of paypal something.
I have looked everywhere and still can't find a transaction ID, but I do have the receipt number and of course the email ID. Is there any way to start the dispute with this information?

First I would make sure that the charge actually occurred - you might have received a scam email.
Go to the main page of your Paypal acount. On the right sie of the window, just above the list of transactions, there's a link that says "View all of my transactions" Click on that and see if you can find the payment.
If you do find the payment, chick on the "details link in the same line and the transaction ID will be in there.
If you don't find the transaction, the email was a fake, likely designed to steal your password and possibly download a keylogger spyware into your computer.
If you clicked on the web address link, you should do this RIGHT NOW;
Change your passwords - all of them.
THEN, you need to run several anti-spyware programs in case you got a keylogger downloaded to your computer. Spybot and Malware anti-malware are good and they're free - Google them for the download sites.
THEN, you need to change all of your passwords AGAIN, in case the keylogger had time to send the password change to another computer.

Why does this appears as solved????
you did not solved anything... the charge is still there and I found out about it through checking my bank statement in te bank website... which I can assure you is no scam..........

I am having the same problem. My bank account was charged for a PayPal transaction, but my PayPal account has no record of the transaction. I reported the thread in this forum as inappropriate content and asked if they could removed the Resolved status on it.

I ended up calling PayPal and the helped me figure out the transaction on my bank account over the phone. There was no incorrect charge.

i bought an item but have only an email id and receipt number but i am trying to create a dispute and require a transaction id but i can not find this anywhere. i need to do so because i never received all my items and have tried getting hold of them but have not heard back. i was not a member of paypal i used it as a guest it there anyway i can do this without a transaction id or is there anyway someone could help me find it.
