Dinodirect dispute

Has anyone else filed a dispute against dinodirect?

They sent me an email trying to get me to clost the dispute and then they would ship it. Sounds like they are trying to stall me. I read the forum and everyone is unhappy with this company

I ordered two of the 7Inch Android 3G Mini Tablet Netbooks...So far one says "order has (have) been shipped out. The detailed tracking information will be sent to you in 24 hours." While the other says "Christmas is drawing near and you must be very worried about your order status."  YES!

I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after reading all the other comments I'm not too confident they'll deliver.  Sure glad I used PayPal Smiley Very Happy

After ordering and not receiving a package of miscellaneous stuff from Dinodirect and reading the comments on this site I was prepared to write-off my money.  I was on the edge of filing a claim with Paypal within the 45 day limit when the package arrived!

Everything was as ordered, everything worked.

I suspect that DinoDirect was overwhelmed with the response to their Christmas sale and was slow in shipping.

Not a fraud!

I do wish people who are not accustomed to ordering from overseas would have to wait longer to file a dispute.  Similar sites do take in excess of 45 days to receive the product but just as people go to walmart for some of the worst customer service available, they also go to dinodirect to save money.

I wish people would just pay a few cents more and order from the U.S. at times.

Yes, I've ordered from DealExtreme, DinoDirect, and DHGate too many times to count.

What you need to consider is these are not normal businesses as we have in America, Japan, or Europe.  They do not stock much inventory (if any inventory at all) and where the delay comes in is when you order an item yet the factory is only making that item once a month.......well Dino must now wait three weeks to obtain your product before they can even mail it.  Then a ton of disputes will arise by people thinking they are buying from a box store and PayPal will do a limited access from all the disputes.

Would stocking inventory fix this problem and allow them to ship within 48 hours?  Absolutely, BUT if they stocked items they would not be able to offer pricing they do which would then turn you away from buying at that store.

If buying from any of the websites I listed above you need to allow at least 60 days to receive most packages regardless of what their website states.  This is just the norm......and if you need it sooner there are always U.S. sellers who will gladly have it at your door in under 7 days.

Hope this helps

While this is excellent advice, and makes sense, there is no where on the DinoDirect website that explains their ordering/fufillment/shipping timeframes.

They heavily promoted a 'Christmas' sale in Nov/Dec highlighting the huge number of suitable gifts they could provide - however by your explanation and their systems it is very clear that they had no feasible way of fufilling orders in time for Christmas.  It is this simple contradiction that made their operation misleading, and at worst fraudulent.

Ive orded goods online for over 15 years and unless otherwise stipulated, we've become accustomed to goods being shipped out in a 'reasonable' time frame - anything from a day to 10 days.

If DD clearly explained their fufillment and shipping timeframes then there wouldn't be the sheer volume of complaints as the majority of these customers would not of followed through with the order.

The onus is on the retailer/supplier to explain their terms and processes.

100% agree with you on the above statement.  While even DX is horrible about stating 2-5 days shipping time, the regular customers know this and simply ignore it.  The whole Christmas idea I saw on those websites was just bad planning and a bad business decision.

I guess the reality is if they boasted you could have your product in 60 days.......would you want to order?

Everyone must also remember that the HK post made a public statement of 14 days backlog on or around Dec 6th so this could also be why some packages were simply out of normal control.  These merchants did switch to the CN mail system but the CN mail system can be very slow......

Sometimes yes, somtimes no, but knowing this ahead of time means that I can make an informed choice.

Dealing with Dino DIrect as certainly made me a better shopper and a much bigger fan of PayPal.

I think it's pretty diffcult to defend a company that waits until you file a dispute before you get a response. Then, typically they ask you to close the dispute before they issue a refund. I'm sorry, but this is just dishonest. Not to mention disconnecting your customer service telephone number and any online chat support.

I haven't seen too many people defend the company.  However, I have seen many people with little international buying experience bash the company........
