I am very dissapointed with paypals chargeback response. When I sold the item it said plainly no returns sales final and even ebay ruled in my favor that the customer had no leg to stand on and ruled in my favor! PayPal done nothing for me at all and now the customer has my product and I am out the $600. So I paid the customer to take my item and had to pay the fees associated with selling item on ebay so I literally sold my item to the customer for $-800 and all I get is a piece of paper thanks for nothing!!!!!

I JUST found out that Pay-Pal is NOT on the side of the seller!
They have no control over your funds other than what they choose to keep for themselves. It's either the buyers CC company or the buyer but NEVER the seller!
IT'S A SCAM AND I INTEND TO LET MY LOCAL NEWS CHANNEL INVESTIGATE IT!
Since when does a NON-refundable deposit on one of pay-pal's invoices mean it's ok for the buyer to change his mind and not purchase the item but then turn around and file a chargeback thru his credit card company and Pay-Pal agree? Oh yea I bet their team of dispute experts really put up a big fight on this one! They failed and after reading other disputes gone sour from sellers, it's high time someone brought it public as in TV.

Lol everything is ALWAYS refundable on PayPal when the right dispute is filed, and no the seller does not always lose. Quit crying.

Paypal does not "go to bat" for the seller on chargebacks. That is a crock!! Please don't even try to justify this. I had a "FRAUDULENT" chargeback with more documentation than necessary and was still told not enough. But, according to legal counsel, not true, more than enough to back this fraudulent claim. paypal is only out for money and hopefully this will eventually catch on and people will become more vocal regarding being ripped off....paypal gets their monies no matter what...how is that fair???? So again, please don't defend paypal. It is very degrading.

I just had the same experience. I sold an item for $80 to a buyer, after 30 days the buyer claims an unauthorized payment was made, so Paypal deducts $80 from my account, then they take an extra $20 processing fee from my account, so I am down $100 now!! Makes no sense, we need to take action as sellers for more rights....

I have to say that I am really dissapointed with Paypal for a recent decision that was made on my account. I just received a resolution stating that "despite their best efforts, the buyers credit card company found in favor of the buyer". I use paypal to process credit cards on my website, sent the item to the address that matched the credit card, all the information matched for address and CVV code, and I even spoke with Paypal on more than one occassion in which they even stated to me that based on all the information they had, and that I did everything correctly, they could not see that I would lose. I even sent them proof of delivery that it was made to the credit card address that was on file. They state that the reason the charge was reversed was that no seller protection applies, which I know that based on using their services in this manner, there is none. My concern is that i have won these types of chargebacks before with our other merchant account, and I would like to have proof that this was really challenged at all. Update, they just sent me resolution on another one stating the same thing, so now I am out $1600.
My problem with paypal right now is that I have strong concerns whether anythign was done at all, now especially how they just resolved 2 cases within the past 30 mintues. Am I able to request from paypal proof that they actually fought this transaction. Obviously this was a stolen credit card, but all the information matched up. typically there is something that doesn't, and i would understand it more if that was the case. It is always easy to throw the liability back on the seller, but again when everything on the transaction looks 100% good and I even had proof of delivery to the card holders address that is associated with the card, this should have been a slam dunk on my end.
What is paypal really doing for me. Maybe they are not the best solution?

I really can't understand Paypal's stance on chargeback fraud. I sold an item on ebay, a month later, conveniently the buyer did a chargeback. I didn't have seller's protection, my mistake, but I don't deserve to be £600+ out of pocket? The buyer buys at auction claims he can't pay because he's on holiday. Suggests his cousin to pay and collect. He pays, collects and signs and a month later the cousin claims to the credit card company the payment was not authorised. Meanwhile the buyer writes the outfit is exactly as described on ebay feedback. Also says they promise they haven't asked for chargeback, I don't know what to believe?! I'm not so clued up on ebay and paypal but I'm just devastated at the fact that Paypal will not do anything more for me!!
