Ok, I sent a person money, because I was buying a ticket for a concert off her. She said she would email me the ticket when I send her the money. Everything seemed legit. Then I sent the money. And never received the ticket. She blocked me in messenger which is where we were discussing the transaction. I got scammed €43 and I don’t know what to do. Can someone please help, this never happened to me before.

unfortunately sending friends and family you have no comeback. After my latest transaction I'm stopping using PayPal, think most people should unless you want to scam as it seems far to easy at the minute

A friends / family (or gift payment) is intended as a transfer of funds from family or friends to one another. For this reason, there is no processing fee when payment is made with bank or PayPal balance.
However as it is a “gift” payment, there is also no Buyer protection as no goods or services should have been exchanged.

If he was not a close mate or family member you should never use that option as it enables the seller to evade his paypal fees and negates your buyer protection at the same time. That is also why you would be unable to open a dispute apart from an unauthorised transaction (if your account was hacked and used without your consent).

You also risk having your account limited for using this option when you are purchasing goods as its against Paypal rules.

Your only hope is if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then contact your card issuer and see if they will help you but unfortunately again as it was a 'gift' of money they may decline as well.

As you'll notice anyone affiliated with PayPal totally ignore any negative comments towards them. They all just think it'll go away but I feel something big about to hit them if they carry on👀

If you were refering to me then I ignored you as this is not your thread and I was responding to the original posters questions.

Secondly this is a 'user to user' advice forum and I have NOTHING to do with Paypal at all.

If you stay on this forum and help folks on a regular basis then you would get advisor status as well, so would you like me to call you a Paypal affiliate then as well???

No, I just give up my time to help users on this forum get their heads around the complexities of Paypal and save them hopefully from being scammed.....often by using the friends / family option for purchasing goods from scam sellers.
