What happens to a dispute if seller closes account before I escalate?

Hi,

Seller keeps promising refund on dispute, but I only have 8 days to escalate and I'm afraid he's stalling so he can close his PayPal account. If he does that, do I still get protected by PayPal or should I go ahead and escalate immediately? He's been promising a refund for over two weeks now.

Thanks.

2weeks is a long time,escalate now.

if you are protected by PAYPAL,it does  not matter if he closes his account

Thanks, just did that. Let's hope PayPal comes through.

Helllo Flash_xx! Thank you for your post and welcome to the PayPal Community! I am so sorry for the delayed response. As mentioned by nevadasmith, please proceed to escalate the dispute to a claim https://goo.gl/wLVsWs. Generally, a seller should not be able to close the account if the dispute was already opened 🙂 Hope this helps. - Carlos

I was told my case would be closed if I don't escalate in 3 days,  but I don't have any access to this case..  : (
