Hi, I sold an item on Ebay on 2nd December and then purchased the postage through their packlink system using hermes as the carrier.

I dropped off the item valued at £75 at the delivery place and it tracked for about 3 days before seeming to stop at the last stop before delivery after going into the system.

I was unaware of the problem until the buyer sent me a query.

I then contacted Packlink who logged an incident and told me it would be a month for them to investigate. They concluded their investigation yesterday confirming they had been lost it in transit however they only refunded me £25 and my actual postage costs.

My buyer understandably wants a full refund but then i am out of pocket £50.

Is there any route for recovering this through paypal buyer insurance or anything?

It seems absurd and illogical that they know what the cost of the item because the system tracking is attached to the sale and purchase yet take no financial liability for their incompetence.

Any help gratefully appreciated because a 2nd parcel has now gone missing in exactly the same circumstances but a value of` £135 this time.
