The issue that I have experienced was: On April 6, I opened a paypal account to start selling on ebay because it's a mandatory that all payment goes through paypal. My buyer sent me the money on that day and I was tryint to buy postage label via my paypal account. Upon trying to do so, I was suddenly given a notification from my paypal account that my account is under limitation. It's a completely new account and I had no idea why.
I reached out to the support on that day and was only given a response the next day. Frustated by the experience, I decided to just refund the money back to buyer. What's worse is when I did so, I found that I didn't have enough money to refund because of the paypal fees and the refund has to go through my bank account. And I just proceed with the refund because customer's experience is the number one most important thing for me.
I kept trying to reach out to paypal to recover my money inside but the response that I got was always "It's still in review", "It's been submitted", "We are currently understaffed", "It takes about 72 hours". On April 9, one representative who were helping me promised that I'd get a response by Friday(April 10) but I never did. It definitely has been more than 72hours and I just kept trying to reach out to their customer support to only get ghosted. One representative that were with me just left the chat room without giving me any response. Is that how you're treating your customer?

Okay so are you being asked to submit documents to lift the limitation?
https://www.paypal.com/uk/smarthelp/article/how-do-i-remove-the-limitation-from-my-account--faq2189
You likely had to refund from your bank account because being a new seller your funds received were temporarily unavailable. Maybe opened an account and you sold too fast or something. What was it, a same day listing? ::whoosh:: PayPal's risk model be like, "Hark, who goes there?!" People need to slow down. PayPal likes slow, gradual growth. That's crazy to be opening both a PayPal account, then eBay account on 6/4 and list and sold and receive payment on that day. I mean it takes you a couple days to even link/confirm a bank account/verify PayPal account, no? Ya'll are super fast.
And you didn't happen to have a permanently limited PayPal account before?
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Yes exactly it all happened in a single day, why?
I was asked for documents, I was asked for a supplier invoice which I explained to the support that I don't have because I'm selling a personal item.
What I'm unhappy about here is the service of paypal and its customer service which I think is a complete joke.

And yeah I didn't have a permanent limited account with Paypal at all before.
It's completely my first time. I find it very unacceptable in a sense that why am I being asked all these kind of security stuffs only after I received money? Why not before or during sign-up process? It's completely unacceptable

I've been dealing with this issue for the entirety of the week now. I sold on Swappa, and then the symphony of **bleep** with PayPal started. They shut down their phone lines which makes 100% no sense, and anybody on their chat support doesn't have a single clue what they're talking about. If only there were some sort of... voice over internet protocol... that PayPal could use. Maybe you guys could patent it and call it VoIP?
You hop on here hoping to speak to someone that actually gives a **bleep**, but then you get condescending and idiotic replies like "PayPal likes slow and steady growth". Bro, I'm trying to pay my rent and put food in my mouth. I don't give a **bleep** what PayPal "likes", I'm just trying to get the money that is rightfully mine that the PayPal thieves want to keep interest free for as long as possible.
Me, like almost everybody else on this god forsaken platform, has been furloughed/laid off. Naturally, most of us are selling things at a loss. It's not "crazy" that we're trying to sell things and get funds within the same day. My land lord wants to know why my rent is late. Should I tell him PayPal likes a slow and gradual growth and the fact that I need my money immediately to pay rent is a cause for concern?
Speaking to PayPal is 100% a waste of time. It's easier to chalk up any sales you made as a loss than to even attempt to get these thieves to try and sympathize with you on any level and return the money that is rightfully yours to start with. If they even respond.
Being a payment processor doesn't make you god. You thieves just like to think as much.

Been dealing with same issue all week. I've also had payments come in that have been put on hold for 21 days? What's up with that? I've had my account for 12 years.
