Starbucks - Unauthorized Charges

Over the holidays I had two unauthorized Starbucks charges to my Paypal account. I didn't authorize them.  The money is not in my Starbucks account.  I haven't even been to Starbucks in months, even though I did reload $20 back in July of 2018.  So, I open a case.

Two days after opening a case, the clowns at Paypal close it saying that I had a billing agreement in place...This, of course, makes no sense.

First, they didn't contact me at all to discuss.  They just unilaterally closed the case.  No option to appeal or anything.

Second, just because I let Starbucks charge me a half a year ago doesn't mean that these charges are authorized.  It seems like a complete and total non-sequitur for PP to just assume that ALL charges are valid because you have let a vendor charge you some time prior.  Absolutely bonkers...

Call customer service since online dispute handling is automated to save staff wages and makes errors and unable to comprehend context :

Click HELP at the top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US.

Cheers!  I called them and they said they'd call back in an hour or two.

Very annoying that the initial process is automated...They don't reach out to you.  And there's no online process for an appeal, etc.
