Seller ignored my request to cancel the order and gave a tracking number instead

I suspect that I'm scammed and that the seller is playing around with my dispute.

I found a website that had the item I wanted. I got suspicious of the website’s traits after payment via PayPal so I followed the instructions to cancel my order. The website says to call or to email but the number was invalid and t my email never gets a reply. Therefore I opened a dispute saying that I suspect I was scammed. I didn’t make clear that I wanted to cancel the order and a few hours later, the seller updated the case with a tracking number.

The problem is that I don’t trust the seller anymore. I might be wrong but the website has all scammer traits. Since canceling an order is allowed, I wanted to cancel my order. I don’t want the seller to send me a counterfeit package that I’ll need to return. I went to the resolution center and it only says PayPal is reviewing the case and will give a solution or ask for additional information. There is no button to provide additional information.

My questions:

1, How can I provide additional information now, if all possible? I wanted to restate that I want a refund, not a tracking number.

2, Based on your experience, what are the chances I get my money back? I’m afraid that the case closes with me receiving a fake item package and my money is gone.

3, If I’m not happy with the outcome, what should I do?

I'm going through this exact same issue right now, I think we ordered from the same website. The seller has responded with a tracking number and is planning on ignoring my request to cancel and to ship the items anyways. But I don't trust the website anymore as I realize it is a scam. What's terrible is that there seems like there is nothing to be done at this stage.

What was the resolution on your dispute?

Same thing happened to me last year. I bought an article, was not the article I purchased. Put in a claim with paypal and got no solution. Was sent an address in Chinese for return and could never get it sent back for a refund for this false advertisement and lost money for the false item and shipping cost.

I am just experiencing the same thing.  I used the cancel option on the initial email from the company within two hours of placing the order to say I do not wish to receive merchandise that is not authentic but the request for cancellation has been ignored several times.  The only reason I use Paypal is because I trusted that we would have some security in instances like this but not feeling reassured after reading some posts. The company has the same logo as the company I searched online and all the merchandise is listed with the same names so I had no idea it was not the original until I received a confirmation email. The website said I would receive goods within 10 days but the next email gave a tracking number and said the order would be received as late as 20 days so I now know this is definitely not the company I thought I was ordering from. There is no phone number or chat option to contact this company despite the web page advertising that these are options. I am really anxious as I spent a lot of money for my kids for Christmas on merchandise that I don't think is authentic but will also not likely arrive before Christmas. I had felt confident spending that amount of money as I have ordered from the authentic company previously but now feel I have been mislaid.  Is it likely Paypal will help?
