Scammer Fraud Con

Hey, a profile on Instagram selling T Shirts. Ordered 2 for 60, paid via PayPal. Now I've made payment they are ignoring my messages on Instagram. So PayPal seem to be OK with this, why aren't they bringing this fraudster to account? What can I do?

How did you pay?

Goods/services if so then open a dispute for non receipt of item and you ''should'' get a full refund if seller does not provide tracking.

Hey, unfortunately via Family n Friends so I realise I've lost my money but surely PayPal can do something about these fraudsters??

Not unless they blatantly open a website or put on auctions that they only receive friends/family paypal payments.

Other than that you just sent a gift of money to someone and thats allowed.

Did you fund the payment via a credit card? If so can you chargeback? They may help you although have been known to refuse as again it wasn't seen as a purchase of goods/services.    😥

Hey thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm aware that because I sent via Family n Friends I won't see my money again. My issue is that why aren't PayPal bothered about this type of fraud. Why aren't PayPal taking action it seems these people can advertise their stuff on Instagram, con you and they aren't held to account?
