Resolution

Paypal say as security they have opened a case in the resolution centre. They took the payment I had received back out of my bank when I next used PayPal. The item was sent special delivery and signed for - we have proof of this that we have sent. It was opened 7th Jan and I have heard nothing back. This was opened several weeks after the item had been received. I'm now anxious that this is a scam and PayPal will issue the buyer a refund and he gets to keep the item aswell. The buyer has not responded to PayPal yet or any of my messages.

An unauthorised transaction means that an account holders Paypal account was hacked and used without their consent by your ?buyer.

If Paypal check IP addresses etc and find in favour of the account holder then of course they are reimbursed.

However you would not lose out either as long as you met ALL the requirements of seller protection, so your best bet is to go and read up on it to make sure you were covered.

It would help if you said which dispute type was opened.

Is the buyer stating non receipt / or not as described / or unauthorised?

Unauthorised. But the way it was said is that it was PayPal checking the transaction not the buyer as a security check that they do regularly
