Refund for wrong item received

Hi all, I ordered a massage chair, and the seller sent me a pair of rubbish sunglasses!!! How do these two even compare? Anyways, now seller says I need to return it and bear the return postage cost in order to get a refund. What if the seller does not receive the item ? I sent by DHL. Tracking shows it has reached the destination city, but has not been received even after 5 days (pretty odd for a DHL delivery). Paypal said I will refund me the original payment only after seller informs them that it has received the item. Kind of a limbo now: what happens to the original disputed amount, and what happens to return postage cost? Thanks in advance.

I have had the same problem... I ordered an ice maker in May and opened a dispute in July because I had received nothing. 4 weeks after that I received a crappy gold ring with the same order number. I updated my dispute and they have refused my claim, despite me sending photographic evidence of what I ordered, showing the order number, and the ring and tiny packaging it came in, also showing the order number on the envelope! Yesterday I received an email saying my case had been denied because the company have provided evidence of delivery!!!!! I'm fuming and can't speak to a human to discuss it... I'm disgusted companies are allowed to get away with this to be honest. I used PayPal because it was supposed to be a safe way of paying... I'm losing £50 and a few years off my life with stress! 😣
