Proof of address rejected because "document is expired" but it's not

Hello,

I've got my proof of address rejected, the reason stated being that the document is expired. I've submitted two documents, both well within the expiration date (one expires in 2027, the second in 2024). These are the only proof of address I can produce right now, as I explained to the customer service.

Customer service said the documents should be fine.

Unfortunately, the customer service chat is no longer available to me either so there's literally no way to contact them anymore, I've submitted the documents again but I'll probably get the same response. I've tried contacting Paypal on the facebook page but I don't know how long until the reply.

I've got 1700 euro blocked in my account right now and I need that money this week for processing a visa, otherwise I'll get in serious trouble with the Immigration Police in Indonesia.

Is there anything else I can do about this? I have an account with PayPal for more than 10 years. They had all the time in the world to check my identity and address.

As a follow-up, I talked to my bank and they informed me they are not even allowed to print my address on any online documents. The same goes for utility providers or phone networks. It's because of the European Data Protection Laws. So, there you have it, because I handle all these things online I can't even get the "proof of address" they are requesting because it would be a violation of my privacy according to European law.

Well done.
