Feel like hitting my head against the wall here!
On Accountant's advice, I changed from trading through a Ltd Co a few years ago and now trade as a conventional self-employed sole trader. All good, bank accounts are business accounts, in the correct name, taxes paid etc.
But the other day, I was looking into a Paypal card reader and I noticed that on my business profile (which I edited several years ago to reflect the new business name & bank details), it still showed the Registered Company Number.
I contacted PP to ask that the account be changed to a Sole Trader account as the Ltd Co was no longer trading. They've now got back to me to say they're closing the account as the Ltd Co is showing as dissolved at Companies House..
Errr - Yes! THAT'S why I contacted PP - to get that changed! They seem to have completely misunderstood the situation...
I now feel I'm stuck in some Kafka-esque nightmare. Any ideas?
I'm presuming I couldn't just start a fresh Sole Trader account as the bank account would be flagged as being used with another Paypal account. And call me odd, but I'd like to keep the same PP account, I'm quite proud that (upto now at least) it had a good reputation, never had any chargebacks or disputes and I'd quite like to keep it!
