Ordered items at FRAUD SCAM WEBSITE canvasn.club. NEED HELP or advice

I ordered items at canvasn.club (SCAM WEBSITE - DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING). The website is set up to simply steal credit card information and take PayPal payments. I first suspected something was wrong when I checked for my order confirmation receipts from the website, and saw I received none. I did receive PayPal payment confirmation receipts, indicating the payments went through, but these receipts do not have a description of the items purchased. I then decided to call the customer service number on the website, only to find out it was disconnected. At this time, I realized I was scammed, so, as most I think would do, I tried to contact PayPal support. PayPal support is closed due to the situation with the virus. When you call the PayPal support number, as you move through the prompts, you eventually get to a final message that say "customer service is closed". No doubt, many of you have experienced this, if you've tried to reach PayPal recently. I get it! It's a tough time for many of us, and for many businesses. PayPal is no exception. That said, let's continue: I decided to try to use the online dispute process, and found I could either choose an "item not received" or an "Unauthorized Transaction" option. I wanted to quickly get a message to PayPal, as phone support was completed shut down, so I used the "Unauthorized Transaction" option. I used this option and included a note describing that I did placed the order, but suspected the merchants/website was fraudulent...a scam. PayPal responded within 24 hours saying "We've completed our review of your unauthorized activity case, and we’ve determined there was no unauthorized use". I then thought, OK, I'll go back in and change the reason for the dispute, only to find 'any and all options for recourse were no longer available". Even the "item not received" option is gone. Essentially, PayPal has, at this time, shut down any and all recourse if you get scammed...at least, I certainly can't find any other way to reach them, or resolve this issue. The total cost of items was over $500, which is not a small amount for me. I typically consider PayPal the safest, but this experience is a little worrying. The lesson I've learned is to be more careful ordering online. I have to think a whole lot of people are going through the same thing, because the scam website is still up and running as of this post, and even if they take it down, I'm sure another one will pop up. Is PayPal simply shutting those customers' disputes down as well, with no recourse and no access to PayPal support? What recourse, if any, is there? Are there any useful tips you can share? I'm sure all those affected would really appreciate your help.

They pulled the same maibox scam, sent to flu masks then started asking for more money to ship.I filed a complaint with Ohio Attorney Generals office but unlikely to work.I thought paypal only allowed legitimate businesses to use their services but I guess not.If they don't resolve this I will never use them again.Too risky.

I can't imagine PayPal will last much longer, unless they patch this security hole. It's been going on for a while, so they have to be aware of it. Maybe they have crunched the numbers and have found they make money from this, because people give up a lot and eat the loss. Sad to think PayPal might be complicit, but at this point, it's very unlikely they don't know what's happening.

So, they we're supposed to be sending me a replacement order. The order supposedly originated from Wuhan China. Sick sense of humor if I get more masks! Now the fake shipping service website (complete with misspellings and grammar errors) " refuses to connect". Surprise!!! This is so wrong on so many levels!

Yup. What some people are doing is returning the masks with the cheapest return shipping with tracking, eating the cost of return, then getting their refund. You shouldn't have to, but PayPal will be of no help. At this point, everyone knows that PayPal knows what's happening. They are simply making enough money from the transactions, that it's not in their best interest to stop the fraud. If PayPal makes money, despite the fraud, they will keep everything going. Eventually, someone with the resources and/or contacts to stop PayPal, who is now complicit in these fraudulent activities, will step up. The rest of us must simply continue sounding the alarm and posting reports of what is happening, and that is how we play our part.

I am extremely **bleep** about PayPal !

After sending multiple messages they closed my case PP-D-70030675 without any resoultion.

It seems like Paypal favors china fraudulent sellers and gets a cut from it.

I am going to  stop using Paypal and escalate this to all social channels.

My thoughts: PayPal has made their choice - 'Fight against ALL PayPal users who were scammed, at all costs'. They would lose too much if they refunded their members. Really only two options - 1) criminal negligence, or 2) in partnership with the scammers. One might say, their negligence is equivalent to a partnership. I started submitting complaints at the links below about canvasn.club, but I'm now going to start submitting complaints about PayPal. Maybe all we can do is sound the alarm.

>>>ripoffreport.com ( Primarily targeted at US consumers, Ripoff Report is probably the world's most visited scam reporting website.
There are no China-specific categories but reports can be filed in a wide variety of circumstances)

>>> complaintsboard.com ( Complaints Board is a comprehensive consumer complaints website. Although there are no categories specific to China, their search function is very useful and many Chinese scams are reported)

>>> ftccomplaintassistant.gov (Our readers from the US may like to consider submitting details of a Chinese scam to the Federal Trade Commission.

Complaints from consumers are used to help detect patterns of fraud and abuse.)
>>> ic3.gov ( Managed by the FBI, the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) may be a useful website for US readers to report more serious Chinese scams.)

same issue exactly.  PayPal seems to be protecting fraudulent sellers.  How can you provide a store receipt if you were not given a receipt?  That's why I selected unauthorized (I knew I couldn't provide a store receipt).  In my opinion PayPal is nearly as bad as the Fraudulent seller.  Aiding and abetting???

I'm done with papal.  Closing my account.

PayPal is protecting this fraud company and allowing them the use their site to continue to rip off customers for thousand with their scam. If you believe PayPal will protect your purchase from fraud, you are in for a big surprise. They will delay your dispute investigation for months and find any way around assuming any responsibility. They have refused to shut this scammer’s account down as a vehicle for ripping off customers. PayPal is well aware of the company and scam and thousand of claims made against this scammer. They have done nothing to stop it and instead blame the consumer they promised to protect. I will trust or buy from nobody online now but Amazon Prime. I highly encourage all users to boycott PayPal. PayPal actually recently changed their terms of use to protect itself from class action lawsuits. Call your Senator or congressperson. PayPal need to be hauled in front of Congress to answer why they are complicit in protecting this scam company and allowing them to continue to operate on their site. I have filed a claim with the FTC. Buyer beware of Canvasn or Canvasn Club.

I wish I looked at this before purchasing from this fraud of a company. I've filed a claim with PayPal and they denied it and said it was normal activity. It is a shame that Paypal will allow its customers to be scammed out of their money. I have contacted my banking institution and they are going to put a hold/fraud claim (IDK) on that transaction. They also told me to contact the company I purchased from but, can't really do that when they are frauds. Once you contacted your banking institution were there any further issues regarding your transaction with this scam company? I feel like a fool and also feel so unsettled knowing they have some of my information. How did your case with this end?

Fortunately, I used my Mastercard through PayPal, and I was able to have the charges reversed. However, it's not that easy if you used you used funds from your PayPal balance.
