No option to confirm credit card

After years of using this account, PayPal has limited my access due to "suspicious" activity, so they need to confirm my identity. They wanted me to submit my photo id, which I did. They accepted that immediately and marked it resolved. Then they told me to confirm a credit or debit card. I clicked Resolve and got a drop down to choose a card. I probably have 10 in my PayPal wallet. I chose the first on the list and selected confirm. It took me to the card info, with options to update or remove, but no confirm. The card doesn't need updating, though I tried just to see. It didn't help. I tried to remove some of the ones I never use, but it won't let me. I'm just stuck with no idea what the problem is or how to fix it. 

Does anyone know what to do?

Click on the words "Help / Contact" at the bottom of paypals pages and use the phone option in the blue band at the top OR very bottom of page dependent on what country you are in. Scroll down past the list of help questions and click on 'Call us' bottom of that page. Log in and get the code.
