Incoptentent PayPAl resolution investigation

What can you do when PayPal performs an incompetent investigation on your behalf? I'm the buyer.

Ordered an item, never came. Emailed the seller, no reply back from seller.

Opened up case. Said I never received the items and no reply from seller.

PayPal somehow contacts the seller, the seller gives PayPal a tracking number in his defense.

PayPal closes the case in his favor because: VALID TRACKING NUMBER PROVIDED BY THE SELLER.

 

If PayPal investigated the tracking number, like I did they would have found out that:

Tracking number  NOT my name

Tracking number NOT my street number

Tracking number NOT my street name

Tracking number did go to my town [but not me]

Tracking number indicates package weight 75 pounds, my items should weigh less than 2 pounds!

 

Another thing

I could not for the life of me find a way to add information to the case regarding the invalid tracking number.

 

I think PayPAy took the sellers word over mine  and was incompetent in their investigation

 

Why did PayPay believe the seller and the tracking number he provided and therefore close my case?

 

The seller give an invalid tracking number!!!

I can feel how upset you are with the outcome. Since you already have a new evidence, you can reopen the case so that we can review it again. 

Here's how you can reopen the case by logging in to your PayPal account : 

1.Go to the Resolution Center.

2.Click Report a Problem.

3.Select the reason for your case and click Continue.

I GIVE UP!!  SO FRUSTRATING DEALING WITH PAYPAL!!

 

I followed your instructions.

Twice I spent a lot of time filling out the information, only to get were having a problem, lets try that again message"!!!

Last resort to detail my message here.  Doing so on PP website is NOT working for me.  I honestly think they cause problems on the webpage to discourage people with issues.

My last resort is to detail the complaint here.  I cant do it on PP webpage.

 

I ordered 3 items  Transaction ID 2KT3572574600963Y

Never received the items. Emailed the seller <removed> three times and never heard from him.

Created a case with PP PP-D-59138844

Seller gave PP a tracking number, 1Z58F90W0396668227, but it is false

 It is not associated with me!

 Since seller gave PP a tracking number, PP closed the case in sellers favour!

I contacted UPS on 03/19/2020 at 11:17 am spoke with a Mark.

Although he could not disclose where the package was delivered to , he did verify that the package did not have my name, my street number, nor my street name on it.  It did go to my town.  Mark told me the package weight was 75 pounds!  My 3 items probably weighed 2 pounds!!!

If PP does not believe my, they can call UPS and get the same results.  The tracking number given does not belong to me or my order.  The seller is scamming me and PayPAl/  He is giving false information to PayPal.  Why hasn't the seller contacted me?

He said the package was delivered as labeled

It would be better for you to contact paypal through our chat support so that they can pull up your account and save the documents for this case. Once this case has been reopened that's the time that our specialist can review the case.

PayPal system the worst I've ever encountered!!

I've tried to go back and make dispute, but since the case was closed in the sellers favor, PayPal system says : "Sorry, you can't report this type of issue for the selected transaction."
The automated chat message system doesn't understand what I write.
The resolution Center doesn't allow me to escalate or appeal to the transaction number.


I will write a dispute letter to their legal department in California.
I will cite to PayPal for their negligence in not verifying the sellers proof via a FALSE tracking number. Just because a tracking number shows the same town and state does not mean it went to the buyers name, street address. PayPal accepted the FALSE tracking number, closed out the case without verifying the tracking number correctly.

A tracking number that indicates only the town and state, but not the street number and street name , is of no value, and not PROOF of delivery.
I could find a tracking number for a package delivered to New York City, NY. But NYC has 8.6 million people!

Unfortunately I am awaiting delivery of an item my wife ordered and paid with PayPal. Once that item arrives I will go ahead and CANCEL my PayPal account.

I have initiated a dispute with my credit card company and they are standing behind me. They are giving me permanent credit for the amount.

The issue for me is I don't want that SOB fraud of a seller to profit and get paid on this transaction!

Using PayPals level of proof, If I was standing anywhere in Dallas, TX on Nov 22, 1963, the PayPal court would have convicted me on the assignation
of President John F. Kennedy.
Remember PayPal's burden of proof is only city and state!

I got one for you i am trying to fight a scamer now the tracking number they provided was dated 5 days before i even considered buying the item and they rulled in the favor of the seller the first time even with proof of when i put the order through.

Now you know that there is No buyer protection from PayPal.

scammers get around their weak policy.

we have both painfully experienced PayPals impudent investigations..

 

Lesson learned:

much better off using your credit card.  In my experience, my credit card customer service  department have almost always had my back. (American Express gave me a hard time over  @a $13 dispute and I wound up dropping them.

Citi Cards has always had my back.  

I don't use PayPal anymore.
