#Unauthorized_Purchase

Hey everyone!

Recently on the 31st of July the amount of USD 338.14 was withdrawn from my bank account on PayPal. I only learnt about the transaction when I received a notification message from my bank.

On that exact date, I immediately started further investigating why the amount was withdrawn, and found notification emails from PayPal in my inbox, as well. As far as I could understand, there was some #unknow_purchase at the amount of USD 338.14. I checked the invoice attached to that transaction, however, could not see any information regarding the #description_or_quantity_of_the_purchased_item/service. The only available information was the amount charged. The #address of the supplier company was wrong, neither the road name, nor the postal code listed on the invoice was related to Azerbaijan. Also, I googled the supplier company for like thousands of times and was not able to find anything official about them:
— #no_official_website,
— #no_official_social_media accounts,
— #no_official_email_address.

This does look like a #scam, that resulted in me losing my money in a most unusual and unexpected way.

I could not contact my bank, since it was Sunday — a non-working day, as usual. Also, thought that this is the case related to PayPal, and bank will not really be able to do any investigation on this case. Therefore, trying to get the answers to my questions and at least some explanations or support, I contacted the #Resolution_Centre and reported the transaction as an unauthorized one and explained the case in details.

After my report was submitted, several notifications were sent by the Resolution Centre, where it was mentioned that the case will be investigated in details and that the Resolution Centre team will try and reach the so called “supplier” company and identify what was the case about. Later, the reason of my report was changed for some unknown reasons.

During the next whole week, I patiently waited for the response from the Resolution Centre, and today - again on Sunday (another non-working day) a notification was sent, where it was mentioned that the amount will #not_be_refunded and that the case is #not_covered_under_the_Purchase_Protection, which does sound quite #unreasonable. I was not provided with the available options to #re-report the case or #appeal the decision made by the Resolution Centre in any way.

Today I checked official #Facebook account of #PayPal, tried to reach the #Customer_Support team, where 2 specialists contacted me back and asked for the details of case. Again, the answer I received in the end is “Sorry, but there’s nothing we can do about it.”

I still have so many questions and absolutely no information about the purchase:
— Where is the #description of the purchase?
— In case the #nature of the purchase was goods, where are they? What is the #delivery_company? Where is the #tracking_info? How can I track the “parcel” after all?
— What will happen, if I do not receive anything? Won’t any “#Buyers_Protection” #policy be applicable to my case? And if not, why?

So, here I am, trying to understand how this kind of scam is possible on this platform. The company well-known for its EXTRA-LEVEL OF SECURITY AND FRAUD PREVENTION?

If anyone ever faced this kind of situation, please share your #experience and #help me to find a #solution to this case.

Thanks a lot!
