How to escalate a resolution?

Good afternoon, I opened a dispute on a transaction for goods that where missing from my order. The complaint was that I received part of the order and that 3 items to the value of $34.99 where missing from the package. I want to dispute the outcome of closing the case in the sellers favour as they where able to provide proof of posting. I am not disputing that they posted a package to me, but I am disputing the contents of what they posted. Please advise how I can escalate this to receive my money back for the goods I did not receive? Many Thanks <Removed>

Sounds as if you opened a dispute for non receipt of item, those disputes are mostly automated so seller provides tracking = seller wins.

You should have opened a dispute for item received but not as described ie insufficient quantity and then if the seller did not resolve it paypal would have told you to return what you received back to the seller for a full refund. This is because paypal do not get involved in part returns or part refunds.

So do as advised below but make sure you have activated the below link in case they do open another dispute for you and that is what happens.

You are only allowed 1 dispute per transaction so the only way you can get a second dispute opened is to contact Paypal (when and if you can) and see if they will open a second dispute for you.
They may decline citing policies but if you say you made a mistake then they might open a second dispute for you.

If not then if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then consider contacting your card issuer and see if they will help you with a chargeback?

Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages...

1. Paypal phones are slowly re-opening and increasing in numbers (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.
Or
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.
It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK and @AskPayPal for Twitter.
