How do I make sure a scammy company can’t charge me at the end of a free trial I’m trying to cancel?

Got a free trial of an online class website (Shaw academy), wasn’t happy with multiple things about it, decided to cancel the same day so I wouldn’t forget and get charged. But they’re requiring I do all this extra stuff to cancel, leading me to be even more certain canceling is the right option. They have my PayPal information, and have already done the “deposit a small amount and then refund it” thing (despite not warning me in advance that this would happen - yet more discomfort). How can I make 100% sure this company is barred from the ability to take any of my money?

@smithgmh

Go to Settings (gear icon) > Payments > Manage Automatic Payments

Select merchant on left, click Cancel on the right.

Try to cancel through your Shaw Academy account too. Scroll around the pages/account and payment settings and be thorough to look for a cancel button as much as possible.

@sharpiemarker unfortuantely Shaw Academy keep charging us.  Thousands of us.  Why do think PayPal won't help us when there are so many of us?
