I have received two emails from PayPal telling me I have sent payments to Gumtree, one for 9.94 and another for 1.99, both within ten minutes of each other. I have not used gumtree for about 6 months and even then the things I did post did not fall into the categories that they charge an insertion fee for. I have opened a case with PayPal and I have spoken with gumtree who say they have not received any payments on their end. Has anyone come across this and is there a way I can put a hold on my PayPal account to prevent this happening again until I can get my head around what's going on.
