Frustrated

I am a buyer, I made a purchase via PayPal last day of November. I never received my merchandise. After numerous emails with seller, they said they will refund my money on Jan 7th. I still don’t have my money and PayPal isn’t helping at all. What is next step since, PayPal is supposed to help but, they aren’t at all? After this I will never use PayPal and I will/am letting everyone know how crappy PayPal is.

Have you actually opened a paypal dispute?

Of course, I filed a dispute almost a month ago.

Well there is no 'of course' if you haven't actually said that you have.

A lot of folks are unaware its a problem.

I presume you escalated to a claim but forget I asked that as I expect 'of course' you did and you don't want anymore advice so good luck.

I’m not sure why the rudeness. I was just saying of course I filed a claim. My mistake I didn’t mention it in my first post. You were the one that said did I actually file I claim. I didn’t think that was a necessary comment. I didn’t mention it because it’s petty. I came to this forum to vent frustration and see what other avenues I possibly have from being ripped off from a shady company. I have been trying to follow PayPal dispute steps and that nothing but, a big circle.

I didn't ask if you filed a claim, I asked if you opened a dispute.

There was nothing rude in my post but as I said good luck.

I’m sorry I didn’t realize there is a difference between a claim and dispute. To me they are the same. I take it no other avenues available since I already filed a dispute?

That is why I was asking, you said you opened a dispute BUT did you escalate it to a claim?

Paypal does not get involved until you do that AND you only have up to 20 days to escalate before it 'times out'.

The reason I ask is that you seemed to have waited a while and so I wondered if you had let it time out and the dispute had automatically closed?

I have had numerous conversations with PayPal on the phone. If it has been escalated I don’t know. Is that something they would tell you? If it is I haven’t been told in the 8 conversations I have had. I get conflicting information every time I call. I will have to see if that’s been done. I think I’m going to call my credit card company and dispute charge through them if it’s not too late. I’m think I will have better results. It’s been 52 days since I placed the order and almost a month dealing with PayPal. I’m sure you can understand my frustration. Money taken, no product, money hasn’t been returned.

The dispute process is for you to sort things with the seller, if you can't then the onus is on you to escalate the dispute to a claim for paypal to review BEFORE it times out at 20 days post opening.

Go see if there is an escalate option in your resolution centre OR has the dispute been closed?
