False claim

Buyer won a bid on eBay and after receiving the item, he put in a claim stating I charged him the wrong amount. How could I charge him the wrong amount if he won a bid and that’s the amount he paid? He lied. And now since he filed a chargeback with his financial institution, I am getting charged the chargeback fee. So I’m out so much money because of this and the buyer doesn’t even have to send the item back?? PayPal is a rip-off. I’m so done getting burned by them because they always side with the buyer. I can’t even file a report against him because he filed one against me first.

If he did a chargeback via his card issuer then it has nothing to do with paypal.

The card issuer makes all the decisions and all paypal can do is pass on any information to them on your behalf.

If you lost then you pay the card companies processing fee as well unfortunately.

But PayPal is the one that has to go to bat for the seller and they don’t. How is PayPal letting the buyer get away with this when clearly they have all of the information they need to know he is pulling a fast one? What recourse do I have as a seller if someone files a chargeback with their issuer? This just makes it easier for buyers to scam sellers and PayPal does nothing about it.
