I accidentally made a payment to a Chinese scam website. As soon as I did it I was informed by a friend that the website was illegitimate and tried to cancel but Paypal denied me because they said the transaction was authorized. Now of course I have received nothing, since it was a scam website, but I cannot report that I didn't receive the item because Paypal closed the case and won't reopen for any other reasons. Does anyone have any experience with something like this and were you able to resolve it? By the way website is SOJOURNALPIX.COM avoid and beware.

Something similar happened to me except I was using Paxful to buy Bitcoins. I made $250 payment, BTC’s were never sent and seller vanished.
The PayPal claim and ensuing dispute is miscategorized as “Not Authorized” and it should be “Product not received”.
I’ve sent many emails to PayPal to try to remedy this and gone around and around and around in circles in the automated dispute process to no avail. I’ve tried over and over to talk with a live customer service agent (suggested elsewhere in the community) and receive a recorded message that no agents are available and hangs up.
