Fees for buying an ebay Item

Hi

Just purchased an Item of ebay and paid the seller via paypal straight away. The payment was funded with approx £7 from money already in my paypal account and £125 was instantly transferred from my linked bank account to cover the rest.

The payment has been completed but the seller is saying I owe him £4.69 in paypal fees and i should have paid this at checkout. 

Pretty sure I have never been charged for buying off ebay before and was hoping someone could help me understand what the fee is and if it is correct.

Hi leekstokie, 

If you paid the correct amount for your item purchased on eBay and have paid the specified postage then you should not have to pay any additional costs. 

If your seller has been charged a receiving fee for receiving the payment, this is a fee that your seller needs to pay unless otherwise agreed.
