If you experience an issue with an item you have purchased, you may be entitled to a refund via the PayPal Purchase Protection program.
You will be covered if the item you purchased is eligible for cover* and if the following conditions apply:
- You didn't receive your item.
- The item you received is notably different from its description.
Payments for the following items are not eligible for refund as part of the PayPal Purchase Protection program:
- Real estate, including residential properties
- Businesses
- Vehicles, including motor vehicles, motorcycles, mobile homes, planes, and boats
- Custom-made items
- Items prohibited by the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy
- Items collected in person or by someone else in your name
- Industrial machinery used in manufacturing
- Items equivalent to cash, including gift cards and prepaid cards
- Virtual terminal payments
- Personal payments
If your transaction meets these requirements, you may file a dispute via the Resolution Center within 180 days of the payment date and communicate directly with the seller to resolve the issue. If you fail to reach an agreement, you may request that PayPal review the case by converting the dispute into a claim.
