Unpaid Invoices - Are email reminders going to spam folder?

Hello! I've been noticing that a high percentage of my invoices are going 'unpaid'. I'm worried that the initial invoice, and subsequent reminders, are going to the customers email spam folders. Even after I've given up trying to sell something to a specific customer, I'm following up with a communicative email, and they are also going unanswered. Is there anything I can do to address this? Is there any way I can find out if a customer is actually getting their invoice. Keep in mind, I only send an invoice when a potential customer orders something. That's why it's so strange that people aren't paying the invoice.
Any advice or suggestions, would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much!
Andy
