I sold an item on eBay that totaled $86.08 with shipping. PayPal included tax of $7.10, which is much higher then the sales tax of my home state, which is 6% sales tax. $51.00 for the item, $35.08 shipping, and a tax of $7.10 = $93.18. PayPal subtracted their fee of $3.00 as well as the tax of $7.10. Leaving me with total of $83.08. What is up with the high tax? I’m only making $46.66 on an item that I sold for $51.00. This doesn’t add up to me.
