Invoice scam

Hello, as i  have a question as i am new to paypal, so i'm selling a computer to someone and they said to create an invoice etc, i have also heard that people are scamming others over 'invoice scams' , how can i avoid this ?

The invoice scam is when a buyer 'sends' you an invoice that 'looks' as if they have paid and says funds will show in your paypal balance within 24 hours.

Of course the funds never show.

If you send an invoice fully describing what you are selling then do not send ANYTHING until the funds are actually SHOWING in your Paypal account balance.

I suggest also that you go and read up on Paypal seller protection so you can risk assess this and future transactions.

Also DO NOT use Paypal if the buyer is collecting the item or you are personally delivering it 'face to face' as there is no seller protection for those types of transactions.....if he is collecting then refund and go for cash on collection only.
