I am furious about the deceptive sceens which falsely lead the paypal user in to the Bill Me Later business.  Further, it is impossibel to determine how to cancel the connection with Bill Me Later.

I strongly agree: BILL ME LATER is a SCAM!!!

I kept a fully funded PayPal account (have used their service since day 1), and at least two credit cards on file. Didn't know when and how they default my payment method to Bill me Later. Since I had enough funds in my account, I thought everything would be fine with my purchases with eBay. However, in August, I got an email from Bill me Later, said my account was over due and if I need help with my credit issues, please call them. Then I logged into my PayPal account, found out all my eBay purchases went to their services instead of my cash funds and/or my credit cards (which was set as the preferred payment). On the bill there were financial charges and fees.  I called them to ask why. They told me this could happen if the credit card didn't go through. How this could happen?  I have almost a perfect credit score, never had any credit payment issue. They said, once the Bill me Later was selected for use once, all the subsequent charges just go through it. OK, I said, I got. From then, I made several other purchases from eBay, every time I selected my credit as my payment method. Guess what, again, they sent me a notice a few days ago, said my Bill me Later bill is over due, now again all financial charges and fees were charged to my account. Apparently, all my purchased still went to Bill me Later. This is utmost unacceptable practice by PayPal/Bill Me Later. Consider that I keep a large cash balance with them and current credit cards on file, and brought them thousand dollars revenue to over last 10 years, how they could develop such a scam to harass their best customers?

I would suggest that we, the victims of the SCAM, should file a class lawsuit against them, and ask them to stop this practice, demanding refund of all the fees they collected with this scam;  we should seek more punitive damage compensation. Any way, we need to do some things so these greedy and unethical business practices can be stopped.

Thanks to all.

BML is nothing more than Paypals way to discreetly obtain the Social Security numbers of those members who opened accounts before that was a required input.  They are in cahoots with our socialist senate who are looking to tax EVERYTHING!!  What's next? Are we going to have to get a W-2 and 1099 before we can advertise a yard sale?

This will also help ebay eliminate the small seller who has a slim profit margin as is and will not be able to make money when you deduct income tax for merchandise that sales tax was already paid on.

In reply to Archer24:

I just don't get it. Are you really suggesting that BML is a left-wing mastermind idea ("tax everything") which is going to help the large corporation (eBay) put all the smaller guys out of business? I never took Politics 101, but even I can see that this argument doesn't hold any water whatsoever.

Let's just stick to the facts about BML here. If you want to play politics, go to a different forum.

Fact about BML - I managed to sign up for it,and never had to give my SSN. Either it's a "sometimes-you-do-sometimes-you-don't" type of organisation (therefore not to be trusted with financial operations) or you are mistaken (I don't know which).

Bill me later is just a way to **bleep** you out of your money.  We purchased something using Bill Me Later.  The bill was sent to another one of our properties and we didn't get the bill until 3 weeks later.  Betime we payed the bill a large late fee was tacked onto the bill doubling the original purchase price.  We have refused to pay it and is now with a 3rd party collection agency.  For a 32.00 purchase we now have a $270 bill that is in collections.  Stay away from Bill Me Later.  It isn't worth it.

I remember long before the Internet, when computer were in it's infancy.  I had a BILL with one of the first online Bankers!

They were not a real bank.  Not a legal lending institution!   I ended up with $500.00 dollars of their money!   Don't remember what it was about!   But I had a disagreement with the woman on the phone!   Got **bleep**, told her to shove off! It was an illeagal move, They were "Not a legal lending institution.   I'm not paying, let's see you come get it!   I never paid it, don't remember if they ever harassed me at all!   Remember I didn't pay!  (BML) is not a Legal Credit Card!    They don't follow CREDIT CARD RULES: of properly informing customers and such!

I didn't know there was a $2:00 a month FEES & ADJUSTMENTS, every 25 days!

I just caught it in time online!

I would have been $2:00 Short.

That (2) dolllars would have cost me a $25:00 dollars Late Fee!    Doesn't seem legal or fair!

You may not havve to pay!

Only problem with you doing that is your hurting your self by damaging your credit! these days you need that, I suggest going after them but clear up your account first! They are in the wrong and are liable! but damaging your credit while trying to settle this is not worth it! Pay and SUE!

Never have i seen a company with more flaws i payed for a chainsaw. could not see how it was payed they are a slow process sending echecks from paypal to bill me later .. not an instant transfer .. after a phone call i found out they paid for it .. chainsaw came damaged .. seller refunded and bill me later took the money after i payed my bill in full because of their 25 day billing cycle was coming to a late fee before this was resolved .. many phone calls and my check is in the mail for my 120.00 dollar overpay . The company never should have taken payment for the same bill twice .. the said i had a credit  on my account and had to be cornered to give it back ..there is no linked business between paypal and this company that makes any sense and are a useless company stealing from unsuspecting people with the bill me later and pay 6 months later applies  only once ..  .. never again   the check is still not here .. 9/24 to 11/1 so far  ..

BillMeLater. It is very frustrating. Here is a copy of my dispute:

On Oct.20 and Oct. 26, you (PayPal) attempted to withdraw funds from my bank account, which resulted in me acquiring $60 in NSF.

I added BillMeLater as my primary/default method of payment on Oct.3. Article 3.3.,Preferred Payment Method of the Paypal User Agreement states "...Certain funding sources may not be available for certain products; if there are funding source limitations, these will be disclosed to you as part of your transaction flow for the specific product in question." This was never disclosed to me 1. that there was a problem using BillMeLater for this transaction 2. That you were going to use my bank account.

As a result, I am requesting that I immediately be refunded the $60 NSF fees I incurred due to your submitting payment against my bank account when BillMeLater was my default preferred payment method and I gave no authorization for your actions towards this transaction in terms of 3.3. of this PayPal contract/agreement.

It is true that they don't make it easy to cancel, but it's NOT impossible! I know because I just did it. Just call PayPal and ask to be transferred to BILL ME LATER. They said that it must be done verbally-you can't do it over the computer. To me this doesn't make sense because you open the account online so why can't you close it online?
