can i get a refund on my card?

so i added a new card on my account ( a mastercard giftcard to be exact) and they charged $1. at first i guessed it was one of those activation fees where you put the code in to get a refund but when i looked on my account, there was no little place to click to put the code in.

another thing i noticed was that the charge was called 'PAYPAL' but it didn't have a normal code like it did before, it was literally '00000001'

i guess i thought if i took the card off, i would get the dollar back on my card, but guess not!

somehow i thought it would be a good idea to add the card again so i did, and i got charged yet again =_=

so now i have two charges on my card and i am making my way on here on this forum

this is a picture of the two charges http://i35.tinypic.com/r8imq0.jpg

please help :X

Welcome to the boards!

Whenever a card is registered with a merchant, a $1 temporary charge may be applied to the card to verify that the card information is correct and up to date.

This is a temporary charge and will come off your statement.  When it is taken off is up to the card issuer (not the merchant), but they usually do so before the next statement is sent out.

Hope this helps!
