What logical reason is there for not being able to pay with a credit card when there is a balance?

Hello, I have a small balance on my Paypal account and wish to pay for something I have bought on ebay. I do not wish to use the Paypal balance as that is earmarked to pay my ebay selling fees when they arise.

I simply cannot understand why I cannot pay by my chosen method and leave my paypal balance where it is.

I want to pay with my credit card. This is my money and my finances and frankly I find it incredibly rude that Paypal will not let me manage my payments as I see fit.

Having looked at other posts the general consensus seems to be "Paypal says that it just the way it is".

Quite simply that is just not good enough and may probably be against UK fianance law.

I would like someone who works for Paypal to have the courtesy to reply to this message and tell me how I can pay with my credit card for a purchased item and leave my balance exactly where it is?

A letter to the OFT awaits.

You should see a "change payment method" option during checkout.  Click that, and select your credit card.
