This account is starting to REALLY bug me!

I have been using my PP account for years. I've had it attached to the same bank account since I got the account with my "new" bank back in 2007. Now, about 2 months ago, I can no longer send INSTANT payments... EVERYTHING HAS TO BE eCHECK. Why is it that I know the money leaves my bank almost instantly but freaking PP makes the seller wait a week (or more) before receiving full payment, and my items are delayed? Personally, I like knowing my items are in the mail and I don't have to buy duplicates of my parts (because I've had a payment delayed for so long a seller lost one of the parts).
And, as for my credit card, I only have one, had it for years and it expires in a couple more. That's right, PP, it HAS NOT EXPIRED YET! So why do you want me to add another card that I don't have before you'll let me pay for my parts? I'm getting tired of having to click on the "Skip Add Card" button EVERY time I go to pay for something, BECAUSE I KNOW MY CARD IS STILL VALID, and I'M NOT USING IT!

Welcome to the boards!
Well, yes, I can certainly understand why the switch from Instant Transfer to eChecks can be a bit harrowing. It does sound like the card information we had on file has expired; PayPal doesn't receive updates from the credit card company for your new expiration dates. I'd be willing to bet we still had the old information on file and it finally expired.
Good news though - you can go back to Instant Transfer once we get the updated card information registered. Just log in to your account and add the current card information back. Once you do, you should be able to use Instant Transfers again!
Hope this helps,
Adrian

I don't know how my card info could have expired since the card sure hasn't. And, still, what's the deal with going from Instant Transfer to eCheck? It makes absolutely no sense as to why this was done only a couple of months ago when pretty much every payment I have made to one seller or another has been from my bank accounnt and thus used Instant Transfer. I can see for a large ($100+) payment, but for a measly $30 or so? It's ridiculous!
And besides, I'm not going to give PP my card info again since I've decided that I'm going to pay off and then promptly shred the card.

Hmm, well, that certainly is unusual. I know one time I was tooling around in my account and removed a card and forgot all about it - until I sent an eCheck for a Christmas present
If you're not going to have the credit card any longer, you could opt to register your bank's debit card instead. That would work for getting the good ole' Instant Transfer back.

Okay, I'm getting really tired of this! Now I can't even buy some things without putting in my CC info. Isn't there anybody there who can get the block/lock/whatever off of my account so I can actually buy items? Again, don't tell me to just put in my CC info as you're NOT getting it. It's getting to the point where I'm going to stop buying things altogether on eBay and through PayPal and go through Amazon or something, which is going to be difficult because half of what I need is restoration parts for my car that don't come new. I'm on a deadline of July here, and PayPal and eBay are making it almost impossible to meet that deadline. Heck, I had to wait almost 3 weeks before my MegaSquirt ECU kit was shipped due to PayPal and its everlasting crap.
:edit: And don't suggest I use a debit card either. Between PayPal and everything else I spend money on, for the one year I had a debit card, I spent more time in the red than the black. Sallie Mae and the Fed tend to frown on you when they don't get your money because you don't have any. I don't have and will never have a debit card again.
