paypal taking payments twice

please help

i have recently brought an item off ebay the seller has recived the payment on the 2nd august 2012,

but accourding to paypal the payment has been recived by the seller then returned back to my bank account but for some reason it has made my paypal account over drawn when the money was in the account for it to be paid, if the seller had not recived my payment then i would not have recived my items which i have recived on the 10th august 2012 please could i have any information regarding this matter so i can get this resolved .

Based on the information you supplied in your post, it sounds like you made your payment on Aug 2^nd using the Instant Bank Transfer option. When this is selected, PayPal pays your seller on your behalf and then we wait the 5 to 7 working days for the funds to clear from your bank account to reimburse us. It may take the full timeframe of 5 to 7 days for your bank to notify us on whether the payment is going to be paid or not under the direct debit instruction.

If the payment doesn’t clear from your bank, we will automatically try under the direct debit instruction again. Your account will probably show a negative balance while we are waiting for the funds to clear from your bank. If you need additional advice regarding your account, I’d recommend contacting our Customer Service team by phone or email as they are able to look into your account specifically.
