e-cheque problem

I have recently made a payment via e-cheque (although I had never heard of this before and did it without realising), the payment came out of my bank on 5th Sept, yet the payment is still saying uncleared on my paypal account and says pending until 7th September does anyone know why?

Hi lawben and welcome the PayPal community forum.
I have put all the information I have on echeques below as I feel it will help you and also help other members.
You can see the status of your eCheque payment by following these steps:
- Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
- Click 'History' near the top of the page.
- Find the eCheque payment and then check the ‘Payment status’ column:
- Cleared: The funds transfer to the recipient has completed
- Uncleared: The transaction is still processing from the bank
- Failed: We were unable to obtain the funds from your bank and the payment to the recipient has not completed
- Cancelled: You have cancelled the eCheque. If you cancel an eCheque the funds will still be withdrawn from your bank account but will be credited to your PayPal account balance
- Returned: The funds have been sent back to your PayPal account balance. Please note that it can take 5 - 7 business days from the date the payment was initiated for the funds to appear in the PayPal balance
Note: You can view the expected clearing date of your eCheque by clicking on the 'Details' link next to the transaction in your ‘History’.
