I am trying to buy something online from my paypal account and it just keeps giving me the following message:

Your payment instrument could not be authorized. Please contact your provider, or try a different payment option.

Welcome to the Community!

It sounds to me that your payment is being refused by your credit/debit card issuer.

You should try contacting your bank directly in order for them to investigate this further on your behalf. If they can resolve the issue that you are experiencing with your card, you will be able to send a payment straight away using your card through your account.
