Scam Email regarding payment to Skype Inc

Paypal users please beware of a scam Email regarding payments to Skype Inc.  I have just received an Email supposedly from Paypal regarding payment for 3 months subscriptin to Skype Inc.  The Email states that if you have not authorised this payment then please click on "cancel payment" button.

Please ignore this Email as I do not believe this is from Paypal as it does not state my name, ebay membership or Email address as the recipient - it simply welcomes the Paypal Client.

Also when I clicked on cancel payment it redirected me to another site which I immediately closed without entering any personal details.

Thanks Pam

I've just received this email today, 3 years since 2011 & the first post on this. It was for £39.00, i immediately checked paypal & it wasn't there. I didn't give any bank details but did reply to the email saying i didn't ask or want this. It came back as un sent with computer gibberish & two attachments, which I didn't open. I've forwarded everything on to spoof@paypal.com & deleted the emails, as advised here. What I'd like to know is, should I change my password, to do that I have to add bank details. Can paypal advise on doing this? I'm worried incase someone's 'watching'.

Just got this email today, realised that only the subject had the word Pay Pal in it, nothing else. Thanks for the heads up!

since the link was broken so it gave me time to think and realise that it was a fake

since I had made the mistake of clicking on the link so I thought some hidden malware might have been laded already so I logged into paypal from another computer and was relieved that no such payment had gone

just note myself that I always fllow but missed this time due to panic which is Never ever log into bank or paypal from third party link but type the webaddress manually on the top of the browser

the  reason I fell for it was I had recently installed skype and I thought thye might have put an automatic payment clause afer few months but then I thought hang on they dont have my paypal details so its nonsense.

watch out all

I recieved this same email today. Just so you know its still going around 3 years after the original post. Good advice to ignore it but maybe better to report it as a phishing scam. Thanks

I had one of these this morning also.  Directed me via a link to the 'dispute centre'.  It wasn't addressed to anyone - no greeting.  Nearly got caught out as I used to have a skype a/c which I cancelled exactly a year ago to the day. Very convincing.
