Paypal users please beware of a scam Email regarding payments to Skype Inc. I have just received an Email supposedly from Paypal regarding payment for 3 months subscriptin to Skype Inc. The Email states that if you have not authorised this payment then please click on "cancel payment" button.
Please ignore this Email as I do not believe this is from Paypal as it does not state my name, ebay membership or Email address as the recipient - it simply welcomes the Paypal Client.
Also when I clicked on cancel payment it redirected me to another site which I immediately closed without entering any personal details.
Thanks Pam

I, too, pressed the cancel payment button and then realised I had done something silly and closed it straight away. Then I phoned PayPal for advice. They told me to change my password and any other password that was the same for any other accounts and run a full virus scan of my computer. I did this. I also tried logging into my PayPal account with my old password just to check it had worked and it did I couldn't log in. My computer scan showed that there was nothing untoward going on. So at the very least I would change your PayPal password.
Hope this helps!

I got a similar email, stating a 3 month Skype phone subscription for £18. I did click "cancel payment" but when I was redirected to another site, I got a warning saying "this is a forged website" with two buttons, one of which had something to do with "forgery" and the other said "get me out of here" - which I did click, and it took me back to my Mozilla homepage. I then ran a full computer scan and update [results came back clear] and having read this thread, changed my password for PayPal.
I have the webpage in my history and have tried googling it but to no avail. Unfortunately I can't remember if the warning was a pop-up or if the webpage had the warning as content... which is a bit suspicious. Anyone else have something similar happen?

Thank you everyone for putting what has happened to you on here as I received this email this evening.
Unfortunately, I had my purse stolen at the weekend so it was even more likely that someone was trying to use my card.
Thanks guys
