Requested payment pending

I have sent a request for a payment but its saying its pending!! Why is this??

Hi Englishbull, 

Welcome to the PayPal community forum. We are always happy to have new members. 

When you send a request for payment it will always show as pending until it is paid. Once paid it will update to paid. Pending means it is waiting for the other party to pay.
