Pending 2

I'm old and confused.

Over the last 3 weeks I've sold 2 items (my first sales) with a total cost to buyers of about £70. Both amounts went straight into my PPal account when they were bought (both at BIN price)

Today I've sold another item for £150 total (BIN price) and buyer has paid but the payment is pending. Having read the reasons why I'm confused. One rule says that payments won't be pending once you've sold over £165 which I have now. Another says it will fall into PPal account 3 days after planned delivery date BUT surely that means me posting without seeing the cash in my PPal account.

One similar question was answered with ''You should never send items before you see the funds in your paypal account balance''.

Anyhelp be great

I am really old - sorry !!

On the transaction page it doesn't say ''pending'' BUT

''initiated on 18th Nov and is being processed''

So I assume the money is somewhere between buyer and PPal

Go and find the transaction in your “my ebay” > click to the right where it says sell similar > don't fill in anything just scroll down to the payments section > look in the paypal box > is the email addy in there correct with no spelling mistakes? If so then it would have been wrong on your finished auctions so come back for more advice.

Well - spot on I think -

My son did the listing on my account for his Xbox and has typed  ''address.com'' when it should be ''address.co.uk''

OK then read this through carefully and at the end I tell you how to make sure you don't make the same mistake again.

You need to contact your buyers and ask them to see what it says in their paypal accounts either >>

1. Unclaimed with a cancel option.
2. Unclaimed.
3 Completed.

If its:
1. Then ask them to cancel the payment but tell them that it will take a few days to go back to their funding source if they funded their original payment with a debit or credit card. Then get them to use the "send money" > Goods option and pay to your email address. Tell them DO NOT use the ebay option or it will direct them to ebay checkout and the same thing will happen.

2. If there is no cancel option then the buyer will get their money back automatically 30 days after paying if it remains unclaimed. If it changes to completed they need to come here for advice. You will need to sort out between you if you want to still go ahead with the sale or cancel it.

3. If its completed then come back for more advice.

Then next time you list an item for sale change the email addy during the listing process and check everytime.

Also to help you sort things with your buyers you can pull their contact info if its an ebay transaction. Go to advanced search top of ebay pages > contact member left column > fill in the details and ebay will send you an email with their telephone number.

Is it worth considering on option 1 (cancel etc) them getting their cash back and just use another non-PPal method like POs.

If that was the option then ebay fees would still be claimed from my account as its sold - yes/no ? I'm not in any way trying to avoid the fees - quite the opposite really.

Your buyer can't choose one of those options it depends on what it says in there paypal account .......that is why you have the solutions to each numbered option.

It depends what your buyer comes back and tells you what it says in there paypal account.

Have they not answered you yet??

I was brought up in Falmouth /Penryn and was down staying at St Michaels Hotel a couple of weeks ago....small world!!
